what else is there if you timing belt broke what other parts in the engine could be damaged besides components in the head and block?
i want to know if there is any posibility that any other components could be damaged
please help thanks a mill picture links is a plus
Dart Swinger is correct, there is the possibility of bending one or more valve stems.
Additionally, you will either indent one or more of the pistons as they impact the valves, or possibly crack a piston.
If you haven't tried to start the engine since the belt broke, these may be the only damaged components.
If you did crack a piston, and try to start the engine, small pieces of aluminum from the piston can lodge between the piston and the cylinder wall, scoring the wall to the point you may have to actually rebuild the engine and bore it over.
Since you mention a timing belt rather than a chain, you probably have a a four cylinder engine with an aluminum head. I have seen some heads get small cracks in them along one or more cam towers from the impact of the valves against the pistons. While this may not have an immediate effect on the engine once all the other damaged parts are replaced, the cracks can (and usually will) expand over time, breaking one of the cam towers eventually. How long it takes depends on how severe the crack is.
