How do you set up an alarm on a wind-up, spring-driven alarm clock? The old fashioned kind.?

Yes, I have checked google. Please see link for picture. What does the top circle do (the one that covers the 12?)

The two circles on the clock represent the alarm clock. The top circle is for what hour you would like the alarm to be set for and the bottom circle is for the minutes. Depending on how you set the time for the clock, depends on how you will set the alarm. Generally, the clock will have a knob that you can pull out to set the clock, and then push in to start the clock again setting the time. The knob should have various positions when you pull out and push in this knob. If pushed in, the time is set and the clock is running, and pulled out is how you set the time, then it should have a position when pulled out ( not all the way out just to this first position) that will enable you to set the top circle ( the hour for the alarm) as well as another position for the bottom circle ( the minutes for the alarm) then all the way out for the time on the clock, or some variation of the sort. If this doesn't work, update your question with the information on how you set the time and I can better explain how to set the alarm. Good Luck!
