i have a dodge 3500 2nd generation 12 valve, im thinking about putting a 100gph raptor fuel pump and 370 hp?
bosch marine injectors will these work good together if not what would be a good setup for the pump and injectors?i will be doing some towing with it and i want maximum hp without using a whole lot of fuel thanks.
You're fine without getting a fuel pump. 12V's have a great engine mounted mechanical pump thats driven off the camshaft. You're set in that department!
370hp injectors would be fine but probably run hot towing. They really won't give you 370hp either, more like 60~80hp above stock. You would also need delivery valves for your P7100 pump. They're not as big a jump as you would expect.
You really really need gauges! Boost and EGT gauges are a must. Keep the EGT under 1300 f pre turbo, this is often easier said than done when towing... especially with a modified truck!
If you want a good setup for a little more USABLE power all you really need is a fuel pump cam plate and a fitting to increase your boost.
Freeing up the exhaust and intake are great ideas as well.
For fuel pump cam plates the absolute best source is http://www.tstproducts.com the owner, Mark Chapple, is a retired Cummins engineer who designed the B series engines. He really knows his stuff and you'll find that the parts that make the power are very cheap. Some vendors like Banks are a good bunch but sometimes sell you a lot of stuff you really don't need for the power level they give you. TST's cam plate will do what you want and for much cheaper than anybody else.
If you want to make a good towing setup with good power for your truck I would go for:
A TST cam plate, go for something reasonable like the 605ftlb rating or the 680ftlb ratings. Much more than that and you will have very high EGT and it will cost you a lot to keep them down, plus you have to deal with clutches and all that stuff too.
A 3000 rpm governor spring kit will help too.
A 16cm^2 exhaust housing may help you out too if you tow a lot.
Of course you need gauges, boost and EGT at minimum, trans temp if you have an auto.
If you get a chance you might want to consider a dowel pin kit fix. The dowel pin falling out will ruin your engine.
